Cindy's Medical Needs
Donation protected
My parents, Bill and Cindy McConkey, moved to Nampa, Idaho, in August 2022 to be closer to my family--that is, their three granddaughters :). Bill began work before long and they found a duplex to rent within the same week. Although they were still getting settled into their new place, Cindy found a temp-to-hire position by the end of August. Soon after Cindy started work, Bill fell ill with his Crohn's disease, which left him unable to work. During that time, Cindy was working and helping Bill return to health.
While driving home from work on December 20, 2022, Cindy had a head on collision with a school bus. She miraculously survived but sustained multiple injuries: two broken ankles, two broken wrists, a broken collarbone, and several broken or fractured ribs. Cindy spent three weeks in the hospital. During that time, Cindy told everyone she saw that God had spared her life and she was a miracle. Though Bill had not been able to return to work yet by the time Cindy was released, his health had recovered just enough that he was able to take on the role of caregiver.
Doctors expect it will take 4-6 months before Cindy can return to work. In the meantime, the bills continue to mount up. Without insurance or employment, the substantial expenses of the ambulance trip, anesthesia, multiple surgeries, and physical therapy have created quite a hardship.
Please be in prayer for Cindy's full recovery (and Bill's, too!), for peace and comfort, for God's wisdom and provision when they begin their search for employment, and for their finances.
Thank you for all your prayers, encouragement, help with meals, and gifts. We appreciate you all so much!
