As many of you know, Hayden is a medically complex child who will forever need help & care from someone else. As if things weren’t difficult enough, she will now need 24/7 care with eyes on her at all times as she’ll be getting a trach.

Dyllan will have to take off a minimum of 4 weeks from work to attend the trainings and everything. Which will leave us with ZERO income.

September 11th - Reconstructive hip surgery

October 6th - Hayden was struggling to breathe and was admitted to the Mason City Hospital. She has been having issues since she woke up from anesthesia after her hip surgery. She was diagnosed with pneumonia.

October 7th - Hayden was transferred to Rochester for another trach evaluation due to the breathing episodes worsening and turning her blue.

New Diagnosis’:

-Respiratory Failure With Hypoxia

-Dysphagia Oropharyngeal Phase

-Bronchiectasis

Within 30min of being at Mayo Hayden had an episode so bad she ended up getting transferred to PICU. (Completely blue, O2- 42% even on 13liters through the nasal cannula). She was hooked up to an EEG but they don’t seem to be affecting her in anyway neurologically. They repeated x-rays and think she has tracheomalacia (trachea is collapsing during breathing). They did a scope and her flaps are overlapping and creating a seal blocking airflow.

October 9th - We were told Hayden had been scheduled for a tracheostomy on October 16th, since she’s currently stable, unless she gets worse then it’ll end up being an emergency surgery.
