We are friends and coworkers of this wonderful young mother and we are raising funds to help her beat cancer.
Kelly King was diagnosed with Cervical cancer early on in 2020. Kelly is currently engaged to be married, has a supportive job, friends, and family.
She also has a young son of 9 years that she is raising and genuinely concerned about his future.
Over this past year, Kelly has undergone several weeks of chemo & radiation treatments. Initially it appeared that the treatments were successful.
Then just before the holidays she underwent additional testing only to find out that the cancer had spread to her lungs.
The prognosis from the doctors was very grim. Kelly, being a strong person, along with a great deal of support from her friends & family, decided to get a 2nd opinion.
She recently visited the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Chicago.
While the results were at first encouraging, she has learned that the cancer has spread to her bones. Kelly has a long journey ahead.
She is currently in the process of working with the Cancer Treatment Center to develop her program going forward.
She will be receiving additional chemo treatments over a period of this new year.
Given all the medical care she has received to date, and all the unknown expenses going forward, she still needs to deal with the expenses not covered by her insurance.
She has already incurred over 20k+ in expenses and we expect that number to only become greater as she moves forward. Kelly not only has medical expenses, she also has travel expenses to and from the Cancer Treatment Center.
We know that many would like to help her, so we are setting up this page to help her with her out of pocket medical expenses and her travel costs
