Una Lucha por la Vida, la Familia y la Esperanza.

Hola, me llamo Ana María. Soy una mujer colombiana, esposa, madre.. y luchadora. Mi esposo y yo llegamos a Australia en octubre de 2022 como estudiantes internacionales, llenos de sueños y esperanza por un futuro mejor, Pero la vida nos dio un giro inesperado.

En diciembre de 2023, me diagnosticaron un adenoma hipofisario secretor de GH (Acromegalia) un tumor cerebral que afecta mi visión, equilibrio y me causa dolores de cabeza paralizantes y constantes.

Tuve una cirugía de emergencia el 22 de Diciembre del 2023, pero debido al tamaño y la ubicación del tumor, muy cerca de arterias vitales, no pudieron extraerlo completamente.

En medio de esta lucha, recibimos un milagro: Contra todo pronóstico médico, quedé embarazada y di a luz a una bebé sana y fuerte, que hoy tiene 5 meses, es nuestra luz.

Pero tras el parto, el tumor volvió a crecer y mis síntomas empeoraron. El 11 de julio de 2025, intentaron una segunda cirugía, pero debieron detenerla por riesgo de sangrado potencialmente mortal.

Ahora, la radioterapia es mi única opción de tratamiento — pero no está cubierta por nuestro seguro de estudiante internacional. Los costos médicos, hospitalarios y de cuidado son abrumadores.

Como estudiantes internacionales, no tenemos acceso a apoyo financiero del gobierno. No he podido trabajar por mi estado de salud, y mi esposo está haciendo todo lo posible por mantenernos — pero ya no podemos solos.

Por eso, con el corazón abierto, pedimos tu ayuda. Cualquier donación, por pequeña que sea, nos da esperanza — esperanza de seguir adelante, esperanza de menos dolor, y la posibilidad de seguir al lado de nuestra hija, para brindarle amor y fortaleza.

A Fight for Life, Family and Hope.

Hi, my name is Ana Maria. I´m a Colombian woman, a wife, a mother... and fighter. My husband and I arrived in Australia in October 2022 as international students, full of dreams and hope for a better future, But life took an unexpected turn.

In December 2023, I was diagnosed with a GH-secreting pituitary adenoma (Acromegaly) a brain tumor that affects my vision, balance and causes constant crippling headaches.

I had emergency surgery on December 22, 2023, but due to the size and location of the tumor, very close to vital arteries, they were unable to remove it completely.

In the midst of this struggle, we received a miracle: Against all medical prognosis, I became pregnant and gave birth to a healthy and strong baby girl, who is now 5 months old, she is our light.

But after delivery, the tumor grew back and my symptoms worsened. On July 11, 2025, they tried a second surgery, but had to stop it because of the risk of life-threatening bleeding.

Now, radiation therapy is my only treatment option - but it is not covered by our international student insurance. The medical, hospital and care costs are overwhelming.

As international students, we do not have access to financial support from the government. I have not been able to work because of my health condition, and my husband is doing his best to support us - but we can no longer manage on our own.

So, with an open heart, we ask for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, gives us hope - hope to move forward, hope for less pain, and the possibility to continue by our daughter's side, to give her love and strength.
