House Fire

Last night my best friends house caught on fire. They lost their family pets and their home along with their personal belongings. Many people have asked how they can help so here is a way. Please keep them in their thoughts and prayers.

Yesterday, after Lydia proclaimed it to be "the best day ever," things took a tragic turn as we learned our house had caught fire and we lost our two fur babies, Lucy and Sushi.

Thankfully we weren't home and we are all okay. The material things can be replaced. And thanks to the swift help of our neighbors, my parents, WEMA, and many others, the brick and mortar of our house is hopefully salvageable.

My mom has a saying in her kitchen from a song I'm sure many know, "in the morning when I rise, give me Jesus." This morning as I woke up in her house, that's all I can think. Although we lost so much, all I really need is Jesus. And although we are heartbroken, and mourning, and feel as if this sadness will never fade, I know if we cling to Him, he will give us peace.

Thank you to all who have reached out, sat with us in our yard, gave us waters, shoulders to cry on, clothes to sleep in, took care our kiddos, and so much more. I know I'll miss someone so I won't tag everyone. You all are angels. "Thank you" doesn't seem like enough.

Please keep my family in your prayers. We have no idea what the next steps are, or how to begin a life without Lucy and Sushi. It's seems unimaginable at the moment.
