MARATHON for BLISS

On the 09/04/2021 Bowie Benstead was born, prematurely, 10 weeks and two days early to be exact.
Bowie spent the first few weeks of his life at the NICU premature baby ward at Norwich and Norfolk hospital, when he was old enough and strong enough he was transferred over to the James Paget hospital in Gorleston, 54 days since the day of his surprise arrival, on the 2rd of June, 54 days on, we had our miracle boy home with us.

My partner Bethany barely left our sons side and was amazing through out his early start in life, her strength and courage is nothing short of amazing, we both can not praise enough the James Paget hospital and the N&N hospital, without the fast response of all the teams involved things could have been so different today.

I have decided to challenge my self to raise money for the charity bliss, who enabled us to stay on site with our son for the duration of his stay at Norwich, 30 miles away from home. Without Bliss many families just like mine would not be able to have the opportunity to experience the wonderful but scary first stages of premature life.

I am going to push my limits and take on the "David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge" -
A four mile run every four hours for 48 hours, equating to a total of 48 miles in two days, something I had wanted to do long before Bowie was born, however his early arrival quickly halted all running up until now, I am going to attempt this challenge the week before Christmas which gives me a good window of opportunity to prepare for this daunting test of character, If my partner Bethany and my wonderful son Bowie can be so strong through all that they had gone through I can surely achieve anything I put my mind to, and for a such a great charity.

If you are able to donate anything at all at any time me and my little family would be forever grateful, I plan to keep a log of training progress and updates via social media.
