4x4x48 Challenge. (ALL FUNDS TO CNCF & RMC)

Donation protected

On the 8th of September at 2 pm, I will be setting off on my first 4-mile run in order to complete the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge!! If you don't know what that is, well, the name reveals all.. it means every 4 hours for 48 hours, I will run 4 miles. This adds up to me running 48 miles in total with hopefully some bits of broken sleep in between.

To add to the challenge, I will also run the first and last legs in a 10kg weighted vest, and to make things interesting, for every £100 raised, I will put it back on for another leg… Hit my total of £1000, and ill do the entire thing with it on.

WHY

I am doing this challenge to raise money and spread awareness for two very important Charities.

Christina Noble Childrens Foundation

I have worked alongside CNCF for over ten years now and was introduced to the charity back whilst playing club rugby in the Middle East. Over the last decade, I have continued to work closely with CNCF on various projects. I have had the privilege to travel out to Vietnam and witness the amazing work being done in the centres and schools.

I am extremely proud to represent and Co-captain the CNCF men's rugby team, which competes worldwide to spread awareness and raise money for the foundation. This challenge will act as a nice pre-tournament warm-up before heading to Dubai Rugby 7’s again to represent the charity.

The Royal Marines Charity

I have been a serving member of the Royal Marine Reserves for seven years now and have been lucky to travel and train in various parts of the world during that time.
During this time, I have seen first-hand the fantastic work that the charity does to help serving and former members of the Royal Marines and their families in all aspects of life, including such things as mental health support, respite breaks and financial assistance.

My latest trip with the Royal Marines was to visit the battlefields of Normandy. The Charity helped facilitate a former WW2 veteran's family scatter his ashes during a ceremony on the beach where he had stormed during the D-day landings. It was an honour to be a part of it.

WHEN

As mentioned, I will be starting the Challenge at 2 pm Thursday the 7th of September, with the start and end point of each leg being Equation Fitness (TR4 9QL). Every 4 hours I will set off for the next stint with the final run being at 10 am Saturday morning. The company will always be appreciated if anyone fancies running a few miles or maybe even a few legs with me.

Alternatively, if running isn’t your thing and you want to just show some love and support then come join us after for a cold one. On completion of the challenge, we will be holding a social event at Equation Gym; expect beer, food and some awesome prizes up for grabs! ( More Details will be released over the following weeks)

Any donations big or small will be much appreciated to help continue the amazing work of both charities. Everything raised will go directly to them. Please note I have had to set up the fundraising page as a Beneficiary, as I can not link two charities to one page. Be assured that all funds will be forwarded to the Charities with proof of receipt.

I thank you all in advance for your support

Cheers,

James
