Hi, my name is Laura. I first met Liana as a Clover Bud in 4-H. Liana has always been a great friend and an inspiring individual. I am creating this fundraiser to help Liana and her beautiful daughter, Christina McCormick, during this challenging time of unforeseen life changes.

Joseph McCormick (Some of you may have known him as Nuckolls) was a loving father, husband, and friend. Joseph served in the United States Army for nine years. He struggled with PTSD, which began around a year after his honorable discharge in June 2021.

On September 29th, 2023, Joseph took his own life. Joseph's family and friends had no idea how much Joseph genuinely struggled. His loss has left everyone reeling, trying to process and pick up the pieces.

His wife, Liana McCormick, and seven-month-old daughter, Christina Grace McCormick, meant the world to Joseph.

Our priority now is to help Liana and Christina get back on their feet. Liana is doing her best to reach out to every resource available. Still, it is a slow process with tons of paperwork and can not happen soon enough. The VA is backed up for six months to a year; all other options require time and diligence.

We are trying to pull together one year of coverage and would like to offset the funeral and service costs; we want Liana to have space to grieve, and it's nearly impossible to do that while tangling with the VA and trying to make ends meet.

In the US today, it is estimated that an average of 22 veterans commit suicide each day. PTSD is a severe epidemic and deserves to be taken seriously. Awareness and education is the best tool in combating this battle that families face daily. We are devastated by the loss of Joseph. He will be deeply missed by many.
