Total Loss House Fire

Imagine waking up one morning to get yourself dressed for work like any normal day. You walk to your car to grab something you need and when you get back inside you realize there is a fire in your bedroom. Frantically you run through trying to grab as many memories as you can and toss them out into the yard to try to save some of your most valuable possessions. As smoke fills the house you have to leave behind all things you cherish from your grown children’s lives and special gifts you’ve received from your first grand baby.

This happened to Jennifer Dills. Every single thing she had, that she loved, she lost. She suffered a total loss house fire. She just moved back home in December to be near her first grand baby that was born in November. Plus, her mother whose health has been in decline and she knew she needed to be here to care for her. So she packed up everything and moved back home to her childhood home. She didn’t even have homeowners insurance yet. She was just settling in to her new job and getting her own affairs in order when this fire happened. Not a single piece of clothing survived. She has literally nothing let. She sat nearby for 45 mins bawling and watching everything she had burn while waiting for help to arrive. The Red Cross gave her an emergency fund to get her started on basic necessities but even that doesn’t really scratch the surface on what needs to be replaced. It costs so much to do cleanup, let alone trying to get a good start on rebuilding. Which is where we need help. We will be working on other fundraisers for her and we did take her shopping for some clothes to get her started. We desperately need help. We will take anything anyone wants to donate. Clothes, furniture, and prayers. All are welcome as she has a long road ahead of her.
