Daisy's Brain Surgery
Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is Anais, and this is Daisy and this is our story.
I adopted Daisy when she was 11 months old. I had met a few other dogs but when she crawled into my lap something just felt right. I brought her home the day we met.
Daisy has been there for me through everything; illness, depression, breakups, moves, adventures; all the ups and downs over the past 7 years, she has been a part of. And integral part.
She has never once left my side. When I was sick and bedridden for years, she would not leave me; not for food, not for a treat, not for a walk, not for attention.
I am her whole world and she is mine.
She protects me, she soothes me, she makes me laugh.
She has defined the purest sense of love I ever been lucky enough to feel; no expectations, she wants nothing from me but to exist in my presence.
She is feisty; dont try and come in our room, she'll let you know who's boss.
She is gentle; our vet has said that she has the most gentle temperament she's ever seen.
She is loyal; the definition of the word.
She is the absolute sweetest living thing in the world and everyone who meets her can feel it.
All she wants in life is to protect and be with me.
And that's all I want as well.
Daisy had been having seizures for a few months, and after a $4000 dollar MRI, I found out she has a non-cancerous brain tumour called a meningioma. Although they are non-cancerous, which is a good thing, they grow on the meninges of the brain (the outer lining as oppose to the actual brain itself) and grow inside the skull, putting pressure on the brain.
Full treatment would consist of brain surgery and radiation therapy, coming to around $15,000, which could give her a good number of years and allow her to grow old.
That is a lot of money, and I cannot possibly afford or ask for that.
Brain surgery could give her more time as well, 1-2 years before the tumour came back and we had to figure out next steps.
Brain surgery will be around $8000.
Here's where I feel humbled by my love for her and must ask for something I'd hoped I wouldnt have to; help.
As many of you know, I have been on disability for the last few years due to and intense battle with illness. I havent been able to work much, and I have next to nothing to my name.
I am also a graduate student currently doing my Masters in primary teaching. I love it and it is my calling and passion, and it is also extremely expensive.
Without treatment, Daisy will die by the end of the year.
I have just come back to life and I cannot have her last few years with me be bedridden and in pain. Not me and not her.
We have so much left to do and explore together and she has so much life and spunk left in her.
She is my rock, my child, my baby.
Please please donate what you can. For me, for Daisy; she deserves the world and she deserves to grow old.
Every little bit is appreciated. Please share this as much as you can. Even if you can't donate. It costs nothing to share and it could save her life.
Thank you so much to everyone for their consideration. Please know how grateful I am and how much this means to me.
Remaining ever hopeful,
Anais and Daisy Dannetta
