Long story short, I'm just trying to get a fresh start. I'll be the first to admit that part of this is my fault, but I've been doing everything I can to rebound and get ahead but I just keep getting knocked back down. I'm a recovering alcoholic, and have been sober since November 26, 2023. Because of a divorce, child support, an issue where personal property was damaged, then being laid off for a few months, then unexpected medical issues and truck problems, I fell into a lot of debt trying to keep from being homeless and not lose partial custody of my son.
I'm settled into a position now where I make enough to just get by but if I could get this debt paid off, I could start fresh. I've started my own business as a running coach as a side gig to try and make money as a means of more income but it hasn't been successful yet since I started it in February 2024. I also do UberEats deliveries when I can but with the cost of gas, it doesn't end up earning me much. I am praying that this will find it's way around the internet and into the hearts of enough people in the position to help and that will feel moved to donate.
I'd love to be in a position where I can have financial freedom and actually start saving money while being able to better feed my son when he's with me and take him to enjoy things from time to time. I've consolidated my debt to try and make payments more affordable, and also applied for assistance/food stamps, but keep getting denied. So as much as I hate asking for help, I'm at the point where I'm doing everything I can, but could use some help. I know the goal is huge, maybe I'll reach it, maybe I won't. But anything I can raise will help. I know the power of friends sharing this over randomly posting and getting lost on social media.
