World Marathon Challenge for Team Hoyt!

Tax deductible
On July 28th, 2005, at 3:03pm I was in a car crash that almost ended my life. When I awoke in the hospital four days later, I found out that my life was forever changed. I was left with multiple skull fractures, skins grafts, loss of my taste, and damage to my hearing. The hardest injury was never being able to complete my dreams of playing professional hockey. This crash left me forever injured.

6 months after the crash I was battling emotional and physical demons that seemed to never leave. Everyday felt as if I was climbing Mount Everest barefoot. One morning in the month of February, I watched the Team Hoyt story on HBO. Instantly a flame was ignited inside me. The next morning, I signed up for my first marathon and I was hooked!

If you are unfamiliar with Dick and Rick Hoyt, they are one incredible father and son duo. They have competed in 32 Boston Marathons, 7 Ironman triathlons, and ran and biked from California to Boston. On top of all their accomplishments they have competed in over 1,200 other races and just recently were inducted into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame. Team Hoyt inspired me and millions of other people all over the world every single day.

A once in a lifetime opportunity has come along and I had to jump at it! This opportunity will truly allow us to thank Dick and Rick while doing my part to spread their message all around the world. In October 2022, I will be taking part in the World Marathon Challenge (7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days) representing Team Hoyt with the fundraising goal of $100,000!

The first marathon occurs in Antarctica followed by Cape Town (Africa), Pert (Australia), Dubai (Asia), Madrid (Europe), Fortaleza (South America), and ending in Miami Florida.

Since meeting the Hoyt’s for the first time in 2014, they have truly helped me discover what physically I can do and what you can train the and push the body to accomplish. The powerful motto of Team Hoyt is “yes you can”, and they shown time after time how important that really is!

I cannot complete the World Marathon Challenge alone. I need your help and support in raising $100,000 and making Dick Hoyt's plans come true! Please consider donating to this cause that benefits the eleven Team Hoyt Chapters in Arizona, Coeur D'Alene, Canada, Las Vegas, New England, Oklahoma, San Diego, Texas, Virginia Beach, Ohio and Kansas City. Your donations will also help Dick’s plans of donating 5 running chairs around the world to teams in need.

If you are uncomfortable with making donations online, you can mail your donation to to BJ Williams - WMC at 15 Crestview Drive, Belchertown, MA 01007. Please make checks out to “BJ Williams - WMC”.
