Feeding Community Cats in San Mateo
There are over three dozen homeless cats in the area just north of downtown San Mateo, between North San Mateo Drive and Humboldt Street. These cats live treacherous lives, seeking food and water every day, with no safe shelter, trying to avoid fast cars, predators, and diseases.
Our small group feeds them every night after sunset. We trap those which have not yet been spayed/neutered, have them fixed, and return them to where they were trapped. We'd love to find them homes, but some are too feral. Others are friendly enough to be indoor/outdoor cats, and some were previously domesticated, so we seek to re-unite them with their original caretakers, or find them a new caretaker.
We need your help, either as an occasional feeder, or donating funds to help feed them.
You can view photos of many of the homeless cats, as well as photos of local cats which have gone missing, here: thelostcats.org
Thank you for your support and generosity!
