2nd chance

Hi my name is Lesley.

A close friend of mine had to rehome her 2 emu’s due to moving house. She felt that she had found the ideal home.

Go forward a year and they received a phone call this week from the guy that rehomed them saying due to ill health he could no longer home the emu’s and she needed to collect them.

when she arrived the next day to collect her 2 emu’s she was heartbroken. The female emu was laying dead in the muddy field with the male emu standing over her looking in a terrible state.

The guy that homed them would leave the house! It was clear to see that all the animals on the property were neglected and in a terrible state, some with missing eyes and all knee deep in mud!

The guy has agreed that she could take all the animals as she didn’t want any left behind!

She has taken all the birds ( I have a phobia but working on it )

We have said we can help with 4 goats and if needed 2 pigs.

As this was completely out of the blue we will need to purchase everything to support these animals and also provide vet care.

I know it’s just been Christmas and times are hard but anything would help.

I am selling my grooming equipment and my children are selling their toys to help with the cost.
