Our dear friend Tanya, the feistiest, strongest person we all know, is fighting for her life right now at MGH with Cerebral Encephalitis. 

Her husband Mark has been by Tanya’s side nearly non-stop for the past two weeks and nothing will pull him away for as long as it takes. Greta, Chase and Connor are absolute troopers but are clearly scared and worried about their mom's future. We can only imagine the impact this is having on the kids as the world celebrates the holidays.  

The outpouring of emotion and support has been absolutely incredible, but many have asked about helping financially. Let’s be honest, there are only so many lasagnas a family can eat!

Now, I don’t profess to know anything about their financial condition or what kind of insurance they have. What I do know is that as a Physical Therapist, when Mark is not in the office, he’s not earning. It’s as simple as that. The impact of this loss of income, coupled with the significant expenses they will face during this long road back, is more than anyone should have to endure on their own. No person or family should endure such hardship - especially when we have such and incredible support network of people here to help.

Mark is right where he needs to be right now, and we don’t want him focused on anything but Tanya and his family.
