When you ask someone about Cassie, they’ll probably tell you that she’s funny, a little crass, and straight to the point – but they’ll also tell you that she’s kind. When I think about Cassie, I think about one of my very closest friends – a mother to two beautiful children, a loving wife, & a caregiver to those who need it most. Five days a week, Cassie spends her days up and down the halls of the skilled nursing facility in which we work, treating patients and doing her part to help them achieve their best quality of life. Her passion revolves around serving others, her residents and her family.
Cassie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on April 18, 2020. After an ED visit prompted by loss of vision, Cassie was transported by ambulance to KU Medical Center where she received her diagnosis & promptly began chemotherapy. After additional testing, it became apparent that Cassie’s fight had only just begun.
Cassie & her family are incurring multiple expenses ranging from loss of income, the cost of travel, not to mention medical expenses that are only just scraping the surface thus far. If you are able, I am asking that you please donate what you can to help give back to Cassie and her family, helping to carry what seems like the weight of the world on their shoulders.
If you cannot donate, please SHARE the link to her GoFundMe. Prayers of love and light are also appreciated. Thank you for your generosity in this difficult time.
