Chandler Family

Dear friends and family,

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency. The Shields/Chandler family has faced many trials over the past few months. As many of you know, J.D. was diagnosed with cancer in the Fall, his amazing wife Patricia (affectionately known by her grands as Honey) provided around the clock care for him as his needs and progression continued. There have been setbacks along the way and his journey continues to require a large amount of care.

Then, on March, 4, Patricia’s sweet father, John Shields, was unexpectedly called to his Eternal home. Patricia’s father was an adoring patriarch who loved fiercely and will be greatly missed by all who knew and love him. As the family gathered and prepared to celebrate his amazing life another tragedy befell. Early on the morning of Thursday, March 7, 2024, Patricia suffered a medical emergency that placed her in CCU. On a day when the family was ready to share stories and recognize a beautiful life well lived, they found themselves gathered in a hospital waiting room sending up prayers for a miracle. That miracle continues to be the utmost desire of all of us.

Patricia is fighting for her life. She currently has a team of cardiologists and neurological caregivers working for her healing. Her family is staying steadfast by her side. Prayers are being whispered, shouted and cried out for her recovery to be swift, complete, and we are all believing in that miracle to come to fruition sooner not later.

Between both J.D. and Patricia the costs of medical support is continuing to rise each day. From ambulance transports, 24 hour care giving, daily living costs and the growing medical procedures for both of them a financial burden is present. In this hour of need, we appeal to your generosity and compassion. Your contributions will provide much-needed financial support to the medical expenses as they navigate through this challenging time. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in alleviating the financial strain and ensuring that J.D. and Patricia receive the best possible care.
