The challenge
We are inviting all Oare kids to complete an Iron Man/Woman Distance of 140.6 miles together as a school. There will be opportunities for the children to take part in cycling, walking and running at school and they can also add to their miles by walking, cycling, running or swimming in their own time whenever and wherever they wish, with parents/carers keeping a scorecard of the distance achieved. We are aiming to have covered the Iron Man distance together as a school at the end!
When
We’ll start clocking up the miles from the beginning of the Easter holidays (5 April). The total distance will be tallied up on the afternoon of Friday 6th June with a celebratory walk up Oare Hill for a picnic.
Sponsorship
This year we are fundraising to develop the schools outdoor spaces. We are hoping to:
- Build a canopy in the playground to provide shade and shelter from the rain, as well a walkway round the school.
- put up a sail shade over the quiet garden to provide a shaded reading area / mindfulness area.
- outdoor storage in the field so the children can access equipment and games at play times.
We really appreciate whatever you can give to help us keep improving our “Oaresome” village school. Thank you.
