Help Lindsey Fight Stage 4 Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma
Donation protected
In 2024, my life took an unexpected turn when I discovered a large lump above my collarbone on the right side of my neck. What started as a routine checkup quickly escalated into a series of tests and biopsies that eventually led to a life-changing diagnosis: Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma. This is the story of my journey through uncertainty, resilience, and hope as I navigate treatment and recovery!
Lindsey's Journey to Diagnosis:
In October 2024, I noticed a large lump above my collarbone on the right side of my neck. Concerned, I immediately visited my doctor, and a week later, an ultrasound revealed an enlarged right supraclavicular lymph node. This led to further testing, including a CT scan of my neck and chest, which showed multiple enlarged lymph nodes, including both supraclavicular nodes.
The doctors recommended a small biopsy of the right supraclavicular lymph node, which came back suspicious for Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma. We were devastated but hopeful and immediately reached out to Dana Farber Cancer Institute to schedule an appointment.
During my first visit, the oncologist informed me that the biopsy sample wasn't conclusive and that an additional biopsy was needed for a more definitive result. This time, they needed a larger sample, so I underwent a second surgery on the left supraclavicular lymph node. Though the surgery went well, the biopsy didn't provide clear answers either.
Next, the oncologist recommended a PET/CT scan. This imaging test highlights areas where cancer cells are active. When the scan results came back, it showed that the right supraclavicular lymph node was glowing like a Christmas tree, indicating the cancer was there. As a result, I underwent another surgery to biopsy the right node, which ultimately provided a clear diagnosis of Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma.
A week later, I had a port placed for chemotherapy, and my treatment began. I am now undergoing six months of chemotherapy (NIVO-AVD) at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Londonderry, NH. So far, I have completed three treatments out of twelve and I am pushing through!
Why I Need Your Help:
I’m doing my best to stay strong through this fight, but the physical, emotional, and financial toll is significant. While my focus is on recovery, I’m also facing the mounting financial burden of medical bills, travel to and from appointments, medications, and other ongoing expenses related to treatment. Although insurance covers part of the costs, deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket expenses add up quickly.
This is where I need your help. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping me manage these medical expenses and ease some of the stress during this difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or offering words of encouragement means the world to me.
Thank You!!
I would like to express how grateful I am for the incredible support I've received throughout this journey. Every gift, kind word and card I have received has meant so much to me.
I am remaining extremely positive because of each and every one of you! Even though I have this diagnosis, I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world to receive this amount of support and love.
