Over several months I experienced an enlarging tumor. My providers and I were convinced that it was going to be benign, having three benign tumors in the past. After a devastating phone call a few days after the removal of the tumor, I was diagnosed with an aggressive luminal B Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. After retesting, they changed the diagnosis to being triple negative breast cancer, meaning it does not respond to hormones and could be classified as more aggressive. Being a mother, wife, sister, daughter, cousin, friend, and student, I have a lot of things to keep myself busy with. I am on route to start chemotherapy on December 13th. This will be a three month process, followed by a double mastectomy. I am in full acceptance and on board with the medical teams treatment plan. I am hoping to continue with grad school, but am unsure of the struggles treatment will bring my way. I am going to take everything one day at a time. I will try to update my Caring Bridge page as much as possible. If you have any questions, you are welcome to send me a personal message. I will try and get back to you as soon as possible. I love you all and am so grateful for all of the positive support from my friends and family!
