Syd’s Top Surgery

Howdy! I’m Syd(they/them) and I’m raising money to help cover the cost of life-saving top surgery. This has been a long time coming and I’ve kept putting this because I’ve been afraid and scared. Thankfully, I found some courage today and I’m glad you’re here. I identify as a non-binary transmasc person. I have always felt uncomfortable in the gender I was assigned at birth, it never felt quite right. Even as a kid I always felt so much comfort and contentment in wearing my brother’s clothes rather than my own. As time passed I perceived pressure to conform and at least attempt to fit in to the only two genders I believed existed but I always felt different and like I didn’t fit. I spent so much of my teens and early twenties believing something was fundamentally wrong with me. In the past two years I have was able to breakaway from that mindset and reconnect with the gender euphoria I felt as a kid. In that time I also began to realize how deeply uncomfortable I am with my chest and how difficult it is not being able to experience day to day life in a body I feel comfortable with. This procedure is an expensive one. I have been saving for some time now, but I wanted to ask my community for support if they are able. I will have to take 5-6 weeks off work to recover as I work a physically demanding service job. As well as covering what insurance isn’t able to. I am extremely grateful for anything you are able to give, even if that is just sharing this to your social media. I am so thankful for every single person in my life that has met me with kindness and love on this journey. -Syd
