My name is Shaira and I’m raising funds for my beautiful 11-year-old Persian cat, Snowy. After weeks of treatment for a painful corneal ulcer, she has now been diagnosed with a corneal sequestrum, a serious eye condition that requires urgent surgery.

The procedure is necessary to relieve her pain and possibly save her eye. Unfortunately, the condition has progressed, and the total cost has now risen to £7,500. I’ve already raised £5,500 through savings and will be taking on a part-time job but I still need help covering the remaining £2,000.

Although Snowy is fully registered in my name, I am not a UK citizen, which means I do not qualify for any of the third-party financing options that most pet owners would usually rely on. Many people in my situation could pay this amount over six to twelve months, but I have been told I must pay everything upfront. It feels incredibly unfair and has added so much pressure to an already heartbreaking situation. Not only that but since she is a thorough bred cat they are charging extra because of her breed which makes no sense at all
