Our Mother has been battling lymphoma cancer on & off for years. Two weeks ago today she went to the ER and was immediately flown to Swedes in Rockford. She had an emergency surgery to remove some fluid around her heart. Once the surgery was completed, the surgeon informed us that mom had pretty much "left this planet" and was a very sick woman. Over the last 13 days we have experienced dramatic highs & lows that brought us moments of hope and moments of worry. On 9/16 the Dr's informed us that her body was going through multiple system organ failure. Early morning on 9/17 the Dr's informed us that she would not be leaving the critical care unit; as a family, we made the most difficult decision of our lives. With her health rapidly declining, we opted to make her last moments as comfortable as possible.  She was surrounded by her loving husband of 22 years, her 5 children & their spouses.  We would appreciate any donations to help cover medical expenses and funeral costs.
