On the 28th of August our gorgeous Ollie had a bump to the head at rugby training. The next day he deteriorated and as a result was given a CT scan which revealed he had suffered a massive stroke and a brain haemorrhage. He deteriorated fast and ended up in intensive care fighting for his life.
Ollie is home now but on a long road to recovery and has to learn to walk, read, write and remember a lot of things he knew before the accident. He has suffered significant damage to his vision which at the moment we don’t think will ever return. He is having to learn to navigate the world with this new impaired vision. As a family we are devastated and just want to give him every opportunity we possibly can.
All the research on strokes suggests that the most gains and recovery are made in the first 6 months after the event. We are seeking to ensure Ollie makes the best recovery he is able to in this time and are funding intensive therapies for Oliver because of this. He is getting speech and language therapy, physical therapies and psychological therapy amongst others.
We never thought we would be in this position but are looking to raise funds to give Ollie the best recovery we possibly can by paying for the rehab and therapies he needs as often as possible.
If you know Foxy you know he is sport mad, just voted as player of the season for rugby and football this year and is now devastated he can never play rugby again. He is a cheeky chap who loves a bit of fun and a laugh and we can’t wait to see him back to his old self and the little boy we know and love.
If donating to this cause is something you can do we would sincerely appreciate any help towards helping our beautiful boy.
Thank you and with love,
The Fox Family
