Anna’s Fight Against Brain Cancer

Days before Anna Phelan was due to start her Freshman year of college, after a number of varied symptoms, Anna was diagnosed with an inoperable Grade 4 malignant brain tumor. Categorized as a diffuse midline glioma this tumor demonstrates a particularly aggressive H3K27M mutation. Anna has begun a 6 week course of radiation locally in Athens, Georgia but she and her family continue to consult multiple institutes regarding her next line of treatment. It is likely that the Phelans may need to travel out of state for consultations and possible treatments.

As anyone can imagine, expenses have quickly extended beyond the bounds of insurance coverage. It is our hope and prayer that we can shower the Phelans with generosity and support in the days to come so that they may be able to focus on Anna’s treatment and well-being.

Anna is kind and joyful. Her faith and testimony has remained steadfast throughout these unimaginable circumstances. She continues to amaze everyone around her with her resilience and positivity as she begins treatment and processes what no 18 year old should have to.

A number of other fundraising opportunities are in the works and we are hopeful that we can make giving as easy as possible for anyone and everyone who feels led to do so. We covet your prayers for Anna, Nadine, Buddy, and Harper, as well as Anna’s friends and loved ones during this season and in the days to come.

Nadine & Buddy (Anna’s parents) have set up a separate account specifically for Anna as she begins radiation and explores other treatment options.
