Koen's climate hike
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Koen. I'm going to hike 800 kilometers this May to raise money to fight the climate crisis.
Why am I doing this?
First of all, things don't look great. Forest fires, deadly floods, heat waves, droughts, it's all projected to get much worse unless we act fast. In scientific terms, we're very close to being absolutely screwed. Also, I like hiking.
The goal
I aim to raise a nice amount for the Climate Emergency Fund, an organization that supports the world's most effective environmental groups. Data shows that donating to this fund can be up to a hundred times more impactful than to other climate organizations. In short, a donation here will provide a lot of bang for your buck in terms of impact.
Where will I be hiking?
I’ll be walking the Camino de Santiago, a historic pilgrimage in the north of Spain which is walked by thousands of people each year. I'll be meeting up with tons of people to have beers with, talk about the state of our planet (and probably share advice on how to pop blisters.)
Here's a little thank you
If you want to help, you're absolutely awesome. As a thank you, here's something in return.
- 50,- If you donate 50,- or more, I'll draw a nice portrait of you during my trip.
- 100,- Your name will be placed on the route to Santiago as an eternal reminder of your awesomeness. (It's customary to put stones along the route, I'll leave a nice stone with your name on it).
- 250,- I'll get a bottle of great wine in Santiago de Compostela and carry it all the way back for you;)
(If you want any of these but you prefer to donate anonymously, send me a message with the contact button below or contact me on instagram.)
Want to help but short on cash?
If you don’t have the means to donate but want to help, sharing this around will make a big impact as well. Thanks for the support, see you when I get back.
