Erin was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. Despite having a great job with Intel and decent health insurance, Erin will still have to pay a minimum of $12,000 out of pocket between 2019 and 2020. This on top of all the added paperwork and toil of dealing with all the paperwork and bureaucratic nightmare that is our current medical system at the moment.
As a single mom, with an essentially deadbeat dad (that's me) as a co-parent, and a 2008 Toyota Prius with 200,000 miles on it that's on it's last leg, I can assure you she does not have $12,000 laying around.
It's crazy to me that someone with a good job who works as hard as she does should need to ask for assistance to pay for medical treatment. But this is America, so here we are.
Friends, family, perfect strangers. Please give whatever you can. $10, $50, $100, $1,000, or buy her a new Prius...
I'm setting this go-fund me up for her because I know she would never in a million years set one up for herself. The thought of asking for help would strike her as burdensome to her friends and family, who she loves so deeply. Let's prove her wrong.
If you can't afford to give any money right now, that's ok! Please help by sharing this gofundme campaign far and wide.
Erin is an amazing and hard-working mom, and the greatest co-parent on the face of the Earth. There's no one I'd rather be raising a son with. This time has been scary and weird and unsettling for all of us, and Erin continues to handle it all with grace and good humor that is almost impossible to fathom.
Let's please rally together to show Erin that she is seen, she is valued, and she is loved.
