Last year, during one of our remote medical clinics in Haiti, this little one was placed in my arms. He was very, very sick and malnourished. He needed more intervention than our team could provide. After we took him to a hospital, we set out to provide for his needs. The hospitals in Haiti don’t provide food, water or bedding. This little one, and his mama, needed all of these things. Thankfully, we found a small store that carried baby formula and a bottle. When I saw the cost, I could not believe it. The price of ONE can of formula and ONE bottle was equivalent to a whole months salary of the average Haitian. Can you imagine, if you made $50K a year, paying over $4,000 for one can of formula? Many moms can’t breastfeed and I can’t imagine not having any options to feed/save my child. I am raising money (to buy formula and bottles) and collecting formula/bottle donations for our upcoming medical team trip at the end of January 2018. If you feel led to contribute, I would be SO grateful!! 100% of all monetary donations will be used to purchase formula/bottles.
