“The Blood Crystal” Post Production

We are Dark Hoffman and Gary Trinklein and we are raising funds for post production costs for “The Blood Crystal,” a Star Wars story fan film written and directed by Dark Hoffman.
We are currently in production in Vassar, MI and things are looking great!!! DP Cory James Taylor and AD Michael Richardson are making the film look beautiful and on schedule.
The sets and costumes are elaborate, props are realistic, and include the unveiling of a new R4 droid, stormtroopers, and rebel pilots from the 501st Legion. Set also includes a full size A-Wing prototype built specifically for the film.
Dark is a Star Wars fan that was lucky enough to see the original film in 1977. "The Blood Crystal" will have that same "old school" feeling by using real miniatures along with state of the art visual effects and graphics to make a truly unique experience for the viewer.
Dark has also been inspired by the Lucas Films Star Wars Fan Film contest held every year. He has a great appreciation for the body of work that goes into each production and he states, “I want to make the best Star Wars fan film ever made.”
A personal message from Dark...
“The Blood Crystal" is an original Star Wars story fan film that is my true passion project. I am a survivor of stage 4 head and neck cancer and the idea came to me while I was recovering from extensive surgeries and brutal chemo and radiation therapy. To get me through it, I wrote down every idea that came into my head for this film that had been brewing for quite some time.
This is a one of a kind story of a Jedi and Sith and the adventures they take searching for "The Blood Crystal," rumored to have unimaginable powers. It will change their lives forever!
The film timeline takes place between "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope" where certain groups of Jedi and Sith are still hidden which forms the basis for our characters. It is a very moving and dramatic story with a tight script that will "WOW!" the die hard Star Wars fan and the newbie alike.
