On Thursday July 18th, Michael was hit by a car on his motorcycle. He was life flighted to Houston Memorial Hermann. His left foot was severed on the scene with his left femur broken in 4 spots and sticking out on his thigh, a dislocated right knee, lacerations to two left fingers, severe bruising to his abdomen, and severe bruising and cuts. Once he was at the hospital, he had blood transfusions and scans showing injury to his intestines requiring surgery to evaluation the severity of his abdominal injuries, but it was concluded it was just bruising. Orthopedics completed the amputation to the left leg to mid-calf.

Friday July 19th, Michael went in to his second surgery place a rod through his left femur to put the bones back together and received more blood transfusions and was placed into his room after recovery. The first hours were taxing on both Michael and the family as due to the worldwide software malfunction, most of Michael's medical orders were not up to usual speed we know Memorial Hermann to have. Luckily, later in the evening things started to move along and Michael was able to get into a state of being able to actually get some rest.

Michael is a barista at Starbucks who is also attending ASU to get a degree in Video Game Design. He along with his fiancee planned on starting horseback riding next month.

The family is seeking support in this trying time to aid in the ability to be with Michael through this life altering event including hospital parking, gas, Michael's prior financial responsibilities and food expenses. Anything helps! Thank you!
