Hi everyone, we appreciate the time you're taking to read this.
This is not something I would have thought I would be doing, but me and my husband Zach could really use some help during this very difficult and frustrating time in our life.
Most of our friends and family know our sweet pup Dexter, a Pitbull/Husky mix. He's about two and a half years old and one of the most handsome, sweet, loving dogs you'll ever meet. Everyone that meets him, loves him - especially his two different colored eyes!
We recently went on vacation, leaving Dexter at a day care that he has been going to since he was a puppy, and when we came back and picked him up, he started showing some strange symptoms (difficulty breathing, bloody nose, discharge from his nose)....
It's been a month with him being on antibiotics, trying to get him better, but he's only been getting worse. We have already spent thousands of dollars on tests, blood work...etc. to rule out different illnesses and after getting a CT scan and a rhinoscopy (camera up his nose to check for foreign bodies) on 4/8/20......it could be something worse. We are still waiting to hear back on some biopsy results so we can go over our options moving forward...
We know that these are unforeseen times in our world, and no one could have planned for this to happen - we definitely did not imagine this would happen to us, but we fear that the growing cost of Dexter's vet bills may impact our lives in a way that will make it difficult for us to recover financially.
We are graciously asking for any kind of contribution to help Dexter. He is scared and in pain, and so are we. Although our future as a family of three isn't certain, we still want to fight for our baby for as long as we can. We love him more than anything and he is loved by so many people. We cannot imagine our life without him.
