Charlie’s recovery

Hello, my name is Danielle. My dog Charlie, and I were in Colorado, and unfortunately he was attacked by a pit bull. The attack tore tendons in his right leg, broke his ulna, and he may possibly lose his leg due to infection. He’s on 4 antibiotics, 5 medications daily and one of the bacteria found is resistant to all but 3 medications.

Charlie is my best friend, and is facing the possibility of losing his leg. He’s been with me through 7 moves, and been the best companion through everything, always making friends everywhere he goes. I adopted him at 4 years old, when he was only 45 pounds. He’s now 10 years old, 60 pounds and been in the best shape of his life, until this. I was (and still am) worried about him going through this much at this age, but he’s been strong through all of this and continues to show me this every day.

So far it has cost us over two thousand in vet bills alone, and my work schedule has been impacted due to the daily visits. I’m hoping to raise money to help with the bills and future cost due to this tragedy.
