Jodi Scott Her Fight is Our Fight

Donation protected
This GO FUND ME page is in support of our friend and colleague Jodi L. Scott, Regional Superintendent of Schools-ROE#33 (Monmouth/Galesburg, IL.) who in June of 2020, following the loss of her Mother and best friend on her 50th birthday in April was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.  She has faced a difficult seven months.  Jodi's extraordinary positive attitude, her inner strength and her radiant smile will be what drives her to shut cancer up and go on with the plans she has in life personally as well as professionally!

The Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. has created a remission plan for Jodi to follow that has included five rounds of chemotherapy, two surgeries, radiation on both her leg and her back, various trips to Mayo, plus multiple appointments weekly for scans, blood work, therapy etc.  All steps working towards the goal of a STEM cell transplant and remission!

Jodi has now completed all the necessary steps and her body is  ready for the transplant. Jodi and her family will spend this 2020 holiday season at the Mayo Clinic.  Jodi will be required to be there from November 25th through December 30th in isolation at Mayo and once home it may take up to six months for her immune system to recover and work well on its own.

Throughout this process Jodi has continued to support and guide all of her ROE#33 initiatives, as well as statewide educational projects with an amazing attitude that inspires all of us who know her as a friend and colleague to try harder.  All of this on top of her biggest role in life of being a loving wife, a parent with two beautiful daughters in college and the kind of friend everybody wishes they had.

GO FUND ME is one way that we can help lighten the financial burden that she and her family are now facing and will face as they continue to travel the road to remission.  As her friends and colleagues we want Jodi to focus her energy on getting well, not worrying about finances so we are asking that if you can contribute towards her remission plan it would be greatly appreciated by those who love her.  The average predicted "out of pocket" expenses for just Jodi and her family during the Stem Cell transplant process at Mayo is estimated to be around $45, 000 dollars.  The isolation process will require housing, travel, pharmaceutical, food and ongoing living expenses not only at Mayo but at home also. Extended home and living expenses have been ongoing since her diagnosis in June.

Jodi, Tony and the girls will need everyone's continued support physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually.  They appreciate the kindness, love and support they have already received from family, friends, personal and professional colleagues.

We recognize that so many of us have had struggles during this difficult time so if you can only leave a positive message of support we will appreciate that just as much.  If possible we are asking each of you to repost or forward this message on in support of Jodi and her family. It would be greatly appreciated by all...we thank each of you for helping us in our goal.
