Hello Everyone,

I am fundraising for my family during this time of need. Some of you may know that my husband has a serious leg injury. On April 29 my husband injured his leg while we were having family day. We ended up in the emergency room multiple times due to him having severe pain and not knowing what was going on with his leg. When we originally went to the ER the Doctor thought that he sprained his leg. The pain that he was having so bad that we drove to Gainesville VA emergency room to get reevaluated. While being there we found out that Felix has multiple injuries to his right leg and we were transferred to UF orthopedic for surgery. We meet our surgeon and he informed us that my husband Felix has 5 injuries in his leg. He tore his ACL, PCL, LCL, and MCL, fractured his patella and sprained his calf. The Doctor told us that we are very lucky that he will not lose his leg. The surgeon has scheduled his surgery for July 2, 2021. The surgeon did not want him to do the surgery right away because he wanted Felix to get some of the mobility back and knee flexion before that date.

Since Felix injury he has been out of work for the last 4 months and we still have a long road to recovery, I had to go back to work forcing me to put our 3 month old in daycare which has added on an extra expense. We are having difficulty meeting ends meet and I unfortunately do not make as much. What I do make barely covers all the bills and with the added expense that we have have made it a little difficult. We are now racking up on credit card debt and having to drive the extra miles to take and pick up our son. I am filling up on gas on a weekly basis at this point. Unfortunately, my job has denied my FMLA due to me using all of fmla time and I am unable to take time off to take my husband to his surgery or his physical therapy. We are having to depend on family and friends to help us with this since I am unable to do so.

After surgery the Dr has informed us the earliest that he will be able to walk on his right leg would be 2 months and fully have his leg mobility and walking in a year. The Dr also has informed us that there would be a good chance that he would be walking with a limp. My husband is a mailman and deliveries mail and since he has a physical job which he loves he would not be able to work till maybe the end of the year.

If any of you would be able to help our family for some financial relief we would greatly appreciate it. Whatever you may help us with would be amazing, We do not normally ask for this kind of help but during this time of not knowing when he would be back to work and me being the only one working we are truly struggling to meet ends meet and are starting to get behind on our bills. If you are unable to donate
