Denise Patterson's Ascent to Heaven Fund

Denise was a Veteran of the United State Air Force - first a weather observer then a weather technician aka a Meteorologist.  After her service she became a Registered Nurse.  She served patients and residents in many settings, Oncology, Endoscopy, and Wound Care were her specialities.  She loved planning functions and was incredibly adept at ensuring all the details were attended to.  One of her greatest attributes was her ability to talk to friends and family and be engaging.  At times, I'd fondly call her Oprah, as she would have one of our family members engaged in a long discussion on life or love or any number of topics.  She was amazing at that. When I was a kid growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, I'd always been interested in geography.  One day in the 4th grade during a geography lesson, I recall surveying the map of the United States and making a proclamation that someday I would meet and marry a woman from Baltimore, MD.  I didn't know why I chose Baltimore - maybe the historical aspect or the proximity to DC - not sure, but that's what happened.  So, years later, I met this beautifully intelligent young woman while I was serving in the military.  We became good friends, and eventually married.  Yes, she was from Baltimore, MD.  We brought two children into the world, Angela and Frederick D.  and had a remarkable run of 36 years.  Of course it was not without its challenges along the way but we got here.   Her name is Denise and I'll never forget her.  Now she's gone and I want to have a funeral service to honor her life and to send her home.  Denise perished in North Carolina and I want to bring her back to her home in Virginia for her home going  service.  I'm seeking your donation to meet the goal of $6000 to cover expenses which will include transporting her back to Virginia, preparing for a funeral service, and cremation.  She passed on May 26 and I'd like your donation by June 2nd.  I will be in charge of making the arrangements and planning the service and I hope to make her proud.  Love you all, and thank you.  Rick
