Our team here at Get Lean After 40 has created this GoFundMe on behalf of our friend, brother and co-worker Levi Hensley, who recently passed away at the age of 42 following a short battle with cancer.
We're a tight-knit family here, and one of the ways we wish to honor Levi is to help ease the financial burden that's going to be felt by his loving wife, Susie, and his beautiful young daughter, Ella.
If you can indulge me for a few minutes, I want to tell you a little bit about Levi and then ask for a favor.
Levi was one of the kindest people I've ever worked with – I know, that's what everyone says at times likes this, but it's true.
He worked hard to lead our social media efforts... he pitched in wherever it was needed... and he did it with kindness, creativity, sincerity and a great sense of humor – EVERY single day, without fail.
In almost two years working together, I NEVER once heard a negative word from him... he exuded peace and positivity, despite the fact that he'd been suffering from a debilitating illness for much of his adult life.
Everyone here loved Levi, which is one of the truest measures of a person...
Levi was also a man of DEEP and unwavering faith, and I know that faith grew deeper as it became increasingly clear he wasn't going to win this battle.
Most remarkable about this man, though, was the immense dignity and courage he showed in his final days on Earth...
No bitterness... at peace... grateful for all that he'd experienced in life... praying for others instead of asking for prayers. THAT was Levi...
His body was failing, yet his impact on us was only growing stronger.
We measure strength so many different ways, especially in our world of health and fitness... well, without lifting a finger, Levi over the past month showed more strength and courage than any man I'd seen before.
And in so doing, he provided a blueprint to those of us who knew him on how to leave this life and prepare for the next journey.
We're all a little richer for having known Levi... and considerably sadder now that he's gone.
However, we're also thankful for the brotherhood we shared and the things he taught us... things that are bigger than social media or income statements or quarterly projections.
The favor I mentioned earlier?
NOTHING mattered more to Levi than Susie and Ella, and I can only imagine how hard it must've been for him to leave the loves of his life. He also worried about their futures once he was no longer around. How would they survive without him?
Can you help lessen the financial burden facing Susie with a donation to the family? This will help her with bills (including mounting medical bills), food, clothes and other costs associated with raising a young girl.
Thank you for reading about Levi... he was SUCH a good man and he'll missed. He gave so much to us, his church, his community and his family. In return, we're hoping to provide some relief for Susie and Ella as they prepare for their lives without Levi.
