20mi channel swim. World record attempt!

Aloha! Over Thanksgiving weekend I will be attempting a double crossing of the 'Au'au Channel which separates Lana'i and Maui. 12-14 swimmers, including myself, will swim from Lana'i to Maui, and after "no more than 10 minutes" on the beach, one other swimmer and I will begin the journey back to Lana'i. The channel, at its narrowest point, is 8.8 miles. The swim is an estimated 10 miles each way when currents and winds are taken into consideration.

Any support would go a long way to help pay for airfare, support boats, kayakers, lodging, and food/supplies.


Did I mention that I will be going after the world-record? Only 2 swimmers have completed the double-crossing, and I'd love to add this to my list of adventurous accomplishments. Feel free to email or call with any questions or suggestions.
