A few weeks ago a dear friend (Leslie) of mine was having sharp pains in her stomach; the pain got so bad she went to the Urgent Care which in turn they admitted her to the hospital. While in the hospital a CAT Scan was ran and she was told that there was a tumor in her colon. This news was followed with an appointment for surgery. The surgery was successful they were able to remove the tumor; however along with the tumor they took a 1/3 of her colon and 25 lymph nodes. Unfortunately along with the success came bad news to her and her family; the tumor and lymph nodes tested positive for cancer. She will begin chemo in a couple of weeks for the next 6 months (they cannot start treatment until she has healed from the surgery). The doctors seem positive about the treatment and outcome.
As a working mother of one (Olivia (4)) any help with her recovery/ medical expenses is appreciated. Leslie is a wonderful selfless person and a great friend. A few years ago she donated one of kidney's and now walks and supports the kidney foundation each and every year. Thank you to each of you for your help, love, and support.
