On December 18th, 2020 my Dad went in for a hernia surgery at Advent Hospital in Orlando ,Fl. He went through the surgery just fine, two days later my Dad aspirated and was intibated right away and put in ICU and hooked up to a Vent. They also did a tracheostomy. After about 10 weeks my Dad improved, he was doing well and moved to a different floor in the hospital,the trach was removedand he was getting therapy and was walking and doing things again. He is a strong man and he made it through the aspiration, at that time we were talking about him leaving the hospital and going to therapy/rehab. He was so ready to leave the hospital! The next day after Dad was doing so great he got another pneumonia while in the hospital and was intibated and put back on the vent. Again , with his strength and determination he got back off the vent and breathing on his own, but became somewhat weaker because hes back in ICU and does not get much therapy. We all made a decision to send him to Select Care which is a specialty hospital, they specialize in repiratory therapy and rehabilitation. So he would be getting the therapy he needs to walk and do everything again, get well and go home to Mom. The doctors even reccomended this speciality hospital. Yesterday, we found out that he cannot go to this select hospital because hes running out of days on his medicare and insurance, hes been in the hospital over 4 months. Because of this they want to put him in a skilled nursing home where he will not get the therapy he needs and deserves to be able to go home and live his normal life with my mom. My Dad is my hero, hes an amazing man, he helps everyone and is very kind and loving. He deserves this chance to go to the specialty hospital to get well. I have never done anything like this in my life, I am always the one donating to others in need. I just want my dad to be given the chance to be able to go to the select care hospital where he will get well and go home to mom.  If you cannot donate, please pray that he gets to go to the select care hospital.  This money will be used for his medical bills.Thank you all for reading this.
