This is Echo's Artificial Pancreas ( insulin pump) this is a 90 day loaner... Gotta get that new pump with the newest technology .. It will save Echo's life...
Echo is my 15 year old daughter. When Echo was 2 years old she was diagnosed with type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. She was in the hospital for two weeks as I learned how to take care of her blood sugars. They made me feed her grape jelly or juice when her sugar was low and taught me how to give Echo shots of Insulin.
As you can imagine...It has cost alot to take care of Echo.
8 years ago Echo was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes..and has
to be on alot of medication..you see type 1 means you don't produce the hormone Insulin...type 2 means you don't process/use
the insulin.
I think to myself...what are the chances of her having them both
but unfortunately she does. She is now using an artificial Pancreas called an Insulin Pump which she has to wear on the outside of her body. We are currently saving money for another one as hers broke and is so old that it is no longer under warranty .We are using a loaner pump for three months till we have the $10,000 for the new one but this is what keeps her alive.
Echo has been very sick and in daily pain for a year now...and after
lots of testing and procedures was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease
and is in a major flare up. The doctors cannot use steroids to treat
her Crohn's because it will interfere with her bloodsugars so she is
trying a different medications but with all three diseases her poor
lil body can't keep up.
All my life I wanted to be a mother....that's all...
Seeing my daughter go through so much pain made me decide to take action and advocate for my baby girl.
I was wondering if my family members and friends would each donate $1.00 to help me with Echo's Future Medical Expenses I would be so very grateful. She is my lil princess...my first girl...and I have never needed my family and friends help as much as I do now.
you all have my love,
April
