Help Laurie Preserve Her Vision

Who is Laurie Hull? The first thing I would say in answer to this question, is that Laurie would never write a document such as this. A message, basically asking for people’s help in solving a financial roadblock impeding medical treatment for herself.
Laurie is a giver, not a taker. For as long as I have known her (over 28 years now) I have witnessed a person who exemplifies and defines the word “Love.” She is always giving the most important asset that we all possess, and that is her time. Anyone who knows Laurie, is aware that the majority of that time is spent with children. Over her 30 plus years of being an Educational Assistant, operating her Daycare Business and raising her own three children, Laurie has touched the lives of hundreds of children. She was born with a gift for adoring children and they adore her back. So many people love this woman for the type of person she is on the inside.
About 5 years ago, Laurie was diagnosed with Macular Dystrophy (a cousin of Macular Degeneration), a condition which has no cure or treatment. She has gone blind in one eye with the other following a similar path. The doctors at UCLA indicated that she may have vision for a short time in the future, however for how long is impossible to determine. They are conducting Stem-Cell research at UCLA for Macular Degeneration, however it will be at least five years before a treatment may become available with no guarantee that it would work for her condition. We have found a Stem-Cell treatment center in China that has experienced success in treating Laurie’s condition and have decided to pursue this course of action. Please help us to preserve Laurie’s vision so that she can continue to touch the lives of children for years to come.
