Becca's Road To Recovery

Donation protected
Update: March 1st
Good Morning,
We are pleased to announce that Becca was moved overnight to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital. After a late night of intake paperwork and getting the staff up to date, she was given her nighttime meds and finally allowed to get to sleep sometime after midnight.
Her evaluations with all of her therapies and her new doctor started early this morning so her care plan can get implemented and will start first thing tomorrow. She will get the rest of today to rest and heal before starting to kick ass tomorrow. We appreciate everyone who has already donated and ask you to PLEASE share again so her update can be seen.
Thank You All and please keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming!
The Wood & Garcia Families

Good Day Everyone!
I am writing on behalf of my wife Rebecca Wood. Becca has a heart of gold and would do anything to help anyone especially our four children and four grand babies. She was a nurse for over 25 years, so her empathy has been shared by many.
Back on February 6th, Becca suffered from a massive hemorrhagic stroke. The stroke was so bad that she required emergency brain surgery to remove as much blood and clot from her brain. Where the bleed was, the Neurosurgeon could not remove it all and had to place two EVD drains in her head, one on the back left and one on the front right. She remained intubated on a ventilator for 5 days after surgery and spent 3 weeks in the Intensive Care Unit. Her might and will are strong. Physically, she is progressing. She works with Physical Therapy to walk, do some self care, & try to get stronger every day.
Cognitively, there is a long road to haul for her. While she has improved here at the hospital, it is like anything else where there are good days and there are bad days. In the last 3 weeks there have been many up's and downs. On 2/27 she was moved out of the ICU to the Neuro Floor of the hospital. They will keep her here for a few days before moving her to a Inpatient Rehab Center where her recovery will continue.
Some may also know that when this happened, she was in the middle of her Thyroid Cancer Radiation treatment. That treatment had to be stopped to deal with the more emergency issue.
The primary use of funds raised through this fundraiser will be used to get Becca the best recovering care at the Inpatient Rehab to make sure she has the best chance at best recovery she can make to hopefully get back to herself and be the Becca we all know and love.
Any extra would be used to help pay for her surgeries incurred and the almost month long stay at the hospital.
Speaking for our family, we greatly appreciate anything you can do to help Becca's recovery as not all costs are covered by insurance.
If you aren't in a position to make a donation, PLEASE at least share this story so everyone will see and Becca can get the support even if it is from strangers as she used to give love and support to strangers through her work.
Thank You,
The Wood & Garcia Families
