Tuckers Surgery

Hi yall, this is Haley with TPH. Unfortunately Tucker has hidden a chondroid in her left gutteral pouch for some time that we initially though was just a common cold. Therefore, we treated with exceed & uniprim. With no results we hoped for we then thought it might’ve been allergies from moving locations and feeding ingredients changing. Again, no results so I got her scoped to find a very small infection in her lungs while noticing her left side gutteral pouch seemed full of fluid. Without going to extremems we ran 15 days of a double dose of doxy. It cleared up for 3 weeks then small portion of snot from left nostril (always, only this side). This scared us so we took her in for a trans tracheal wash with ultrasounds and more scoping. That’s when we found a chondroid (stone) filling half her left gutteral pouch while the right side was normal. All bloodwork and testing came back normal, claiming she’s very healthy otherwise. She is not contagious. The chondroid is causing her pain, coughing, and soreness. Doc has tried giving her meds and solution to shrink the size to be able to wash it out. Unfortunately it’s not budging, therefore she will need to undergo surgery to remove the chondroid. Tucker has been at the clinic since Monday December 13th and will remain through Thursday December 16th. Surgery will hopefully be on Friday the 17th.

This is very hard for me to ask this from anyone, but with vet bills adding up I decided to put this together to help save my girl. Her surgery & stay will be around $5/6,000. I’m not ready for her to go yet & she’s isn’t either. Any small portions helps & I am very, very thankful for each & every one of y’all. Please keep the prayers coming. ❤️
