Hi All! My name is Katie Taylor. I'm 27 years old and I am just starting to fight Hodgkin's lymphoma for the second time! I was first diagnosed at age 25 when I was in a Master's program for Biological Psychology at George Mason University. I got through the chemotherapy and graduated on time with my Master's degree in May 2012. I am now a doctoral student at the University of Delaware. I am in my second year of the Behavioral Neuroscience program. The first time I went through treatment I had adequate monetary resources to help pay for all of the treatment/surgeries that my insurance would not cover. Now, I found out last week that Hodgkin's is back and I'm getting married in three weeks! I was stunned and knowing that my money situation isn't what it used to be I decided to give this a try. Those of you that have ever lived off of a graduate student stipend know what I'm talking about. It reminds me of what Walter Jrs son did in Breaking Bad. And while I do not ask for handouts because of my pride and...well...my pride. I thought I'd try something new and reach out for help and support. Anything helps and I say Thank you with the happiest of hearts if you are able to contribute.
