Brian and Lara Mack are very close friends and very dear to many in our Santa Barbara community. They were at Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas when they were both struck by bullets. Lara was lucky to have only been grazed with scalp injury. Brian, while lucky to be alive, had more extensive injuries with abdominal trauma. Lara's quick thinking with the help of some "angels" helped get Brian to the hospital quickly. He had 3 surgeries and after 3 weeks in hospital in Vegas was transferred back to Santa Barbara yet after 5 weeks is still hospitalized. The Mack family is the most giving, sweet family I know and they will be impacted by this tragedy for many years to come. While the news moves on from these tragedies the families are still suffering. I hope to alleviate some of the financial burdens they will face after their wounds heal as Brian will most likely be out of work for multiple months and there's no way to predict what additional types of costs may come up in the near future. Brian's career is in helping people and he's involved in saving lives daily as an Anesthesiologist and volunteers his time all over the world helping the less fortunate. All donations will go directly to his medical bills and uncovered expenses during his recovery.
