Jenni's Fight

Hi, My name is Marilyn Booth. This fundraiser is for my niece, Jenni Fussell. She is one of my great loves! She is strong (reminds me so much of my mom, Marion Fussell), stubborn, and very decisive about every aspect of her life. She lives her life according to her terms!

Right now, Jenni is in the FIGHT OF HER LIFE. In March of last year, Jenni was diagnosed with Triple Negative Inflammatory Breast Cancer. She did everything her doctors told her, starting treatment immediately, even before all of the test results were in. She did two rounds of chemotherapy, had a mastectomy, and then radiation. She was a champ through all of it, keeping a positive outlook, inviting healing and prayers of healing into her life, and taking it to heart.

On December 13th, Grandma Marion’s birthday, Jenni sent me a text saying she was cancer free. We celebrated and rejoiced! Then, just a few weeks later on February 1st, a PET scan showed just a little lymph node that was lighting up. She began radiation for six weeks.

Near the end of her radiation, she began experiencing headaches and extreme sciatic pain. She finished the radiation, mentioning these symptoms. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, a trip to Moffitt’s Urgent Care (resulting in a weeklong hospital stay). They found something – lesions in her brain and spine.

Jenni has opted to fight this cancer just as aggressively as it is attacking her – she has begun a very high dose radiation treatment and will soon begin chemotherapy again. Here’s the problem: she has been unable to work, and her insurance isn’t covering all of the expenses. She is having to stay in a hotel near Moffitt in Tampa while doing the radiation. She has a lot of out-of-pocket things she needs to pay for – including the hotel. Due to the nature of her treatment, it is unlikely that she will be able to resume a normal work schedule and generate income to offset these expenses and the ones to come as she faces a yearlong chemo round.
