Harris Conservatory for the Arts

Hi my name is Jennifer Harris. I am the co-owner/founder of the Harris Conservatory for the Arts. We are a family run business co-owned with my Brother-in Law Jim Harris, his wife Elisabeth Harris and my husband Sean Harris. The Conservatory is a 20,000 square foot School Building, 501c non profit organization which has been an essential part of our local Arts community for the past 17 years. Our conservatory is the home of a variety of performing art schools including The Joan Harris Dance Studio est. in 1982, Ripple Effects Music School teaching students Piano as well a variety of Brass, String instruments, Pat Temple Guitar Studio, Dragon Tale Karate Dojo for the Martial Arts, Connemara Irish Step Dancing and Kirby Kids Theatre Program. Our students are primarily children from all over Northeast Pa. and our conservatory offers these kids a safe, friendly and educational environment to study a variety of Arts after school.

Recently our furnace/boiler broke for the second time. We have had multiple companies in to assess the problem and give us estimates to fix the furnace. All of them confirm it will cost between $25,000 -$70,000 to fix, replace or modify the heating system. We got a loan 10 years ago to install this current furnace which coincidentally we just finished paying off. We are doing everything we could to keep the building open and running but this expense is devastating to our current budget allotted for repairs. We humbly ask if any person, business or organization can help us offset the cost for a new furnace/boiler you will not only be helping us continue but also helping hundreds and hundreds of students who want to continue their pursuit in studying the Arts.
