Greetings!
My name is Xavier Gutierrez and I'm a junior at Sun Valley Magnet School in Los Angeles County. Throughout high school, I've devoted much of my time towards academics and extra curriculars in order to prepare myself for my next challenge: college. Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York is where I want to go.
I applied to Pratt's summer program for high school students in early March and nervously awaited their response. After 16 nervewreckingly anticipated days, I finally received my acceptance letter with uttermost excitement and surprise. But I was devistated when I found out that I hadn't received any scholarship money. That really left me hopeless. But thanks to my amazing and supportive group of teachers and family, I regained my sense of hope and became determined to get where I set myself to go! So I made this campaign to help pay for my trip. My deadline to submit my deposits is May 1st. I am also putting together an art show where I will display and sell my original artwork as a way to raise the funds I need. (more info on the Art Show will be coming soon).
I have spent all of my middle and high school years giving back to those in need. However, I am finding that now I am in need of support. This dream of mine won't be possible without the support of others. So I ask that you help this aspiring artist out by sending him to the art school of his dreams. Whether it be $10, $100, $1000, or a simple click on the share button, your support will be immensely appreciated!
