My name is Ashley Pfitzinger and my sister Hayley and I are raising money to help our parents rebuild their business, Pfitzinger Graphics, and rental home in Old Town Fenton.
Growing up our dad had always dreamt of opening his own business. His talent and love for art lead him to getting his Commercial Art degree and opening Pfitzinger Graphics at age 18. Shortly After him and our mother, Kathy got married, they bought their first home in Old Town Fenton and converted the detached garage into a family owned Graphics Company, Pfitzinger Graphics. This was the start of something to cherish and be proud of for years to come.
On December 26th the Meramec River began to rise and by December 29th had made its way into the family shop, about 2 feet deep, which was already higher than it had ever been before. A few days before our parents Don and Kathy began to take the computers out of the office and place everything they could onto high tables in hopes that the water would not reach the material. The river was estimated to rise another 4 feet by December 30th . The next day it had risen another shocking 7 feet (pictured above) and had surpassed the tables filled with supplies, materials, and files they had accumulated over the past 29 years.
Our parents are facing many unknowns as the new year begins and they could use your support and help while facing these concerns and unexpected costs to come. They do have flood insurance on the rental house located in front of the shop but not on the shop itself; they do not know how long it will take or to what degree of the damage the insurance will cover.
In the meantime they have rented a dumpster to begin cleaning out the debris left from the flood water in the shop and the rental house. Since the water has gone down they have spent numerous hours in Fenton cleaning out both buildings night and day, while trying to get jobs out to their customers. The expenses are beginning to add up quickly they could sure use your help.
