In early March 2022, Catty went to the dentist with her daughter who reported she was low on iron. After sleeping all weekend long and refusing to eat, her daughter took her the doctor because of concerns shared during the dental visit. From the doctor’s visit, there were concerns for Catty’s mobility due to her frailty and her memory appeared to also be deteriorating. She was sent to do additional blood tests and an MRI. From the testing completed, Catty was diagnosed with Chronic Headaches, Dementia, Severe Dyslipidemia, and a tumor of some sort was also discovered.

Catty was later seen by a neurosurgeon regarding the tumor who reported that surgery would be needed to remove the tumor which is behind the walls of the eyes and could lead to vision loss if not corrected. As surgery is inevitable we’re seeking your support to fund the procedure for Catty. She is a loving mother to 4 beautiful daughters and 3 grandchildren. She is only 60 years old and has a full life ahead of her. She is unable to carry out her daily functions currently due to the rapid progression of her memory loss, the constant headaches and dizziness she now experiences on a daily basis.

Catty has always been extremely kind and generous to those she comes in contact with, and now it’s time to pay her back with that same kindness. She has been a vendor selling mostly fruits at the entry way by the Jamaica National Bank in Half-Way-Tree for almost 40 years. She is well known by both employees and regular customers of the bank. Now her main livelihood has been disrupted by this illness. As this is all new to us, we are seeking financial support to cover her medical expenses which are mounting and especially for her impending surgery. Preliminary cost for surgery is estimated to be anywhere from $8-10 million Jamaican dollars.
